Coconut shell activated carbon has predominantly micropores. Almost 85-90% surface area exists as micropores, perfectly matching contaminant molecules and trapping them effectively.

The predominance of micropores gives tight structure, high mechanical strength, and high resistance to attrition or wearing away by friction.
